For the past two years, CSS has sent warning letters making our customers aware of a group of traveling door-to-door alarm salesman from the state of Utah who solicit to takeover residential monitoring services. As explained before, this group comes to Florida for just the summer months and then leaves in the fall to work other states. We want you to be fully aware of these individuals and the companies they represent for the following reasons.
- These companies have no physical, long-term presence in your city to service your account. However, they will try to convince you otherwise.
- These individuals are not licensed in the state of Florida (BASA and/or FASA certified) to sell, service, or install alarm systems. They are operating illegally.
- These individuals state they are the “authorized” Honeywell, First Alert, and GE Dealers for your area. This is untrue.
As stated in our prior letters, we are supportive of good, ethical competition. This is vital to keep all companies improving. However, this is not one of those cases.
Whatever the product or service you purchase, CSS always recommends you research the Better Business Bureau (BBB) for any buying decision where service is critical. This organization has really become a well-developed information resource to evaluate local businesses. They have also recently created a thorough grading system for their on-line website (bbb.com). CSS is proud to state to our customers that it has the highest grade attainable by the BBB (A+). Check us out against our competition.
We apologize that we have to interrupt your busy life to inform you of this concern, but feel an obligation to keep our customers informed. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact your local Certified Security office for more information. For more information, please see our new developed website as well. Thank You.
